DFM Mimir privacy policy

Your conversations stay on your device. Mimir generates replies and summaries locally. Ordinary chat does not send your conversations to us or to an AI service. You can use the bundled model without an account or internet access.

Feedback is your choice. Only when you confirm submission do we receive the current chat, including any compaction summary, your rating, optional comment, attribution name and technical details such as app version, model and settings. The Mimir team uses this feedback for research and to improve Mimir and other Danish Foundation Models. A separate choice, initially enabled, allows publication under CC BY 4.0 with your chosen attribution. You can turn that choice off before sending. The attribution name may link your submissions; feedback is not necessarily anonymous. Avoid sending sensitive information or other people’s personal data.

Web search is optional. When you enable it and configure a key, the model may send queries through our Cloudflare service to Jina AI. Queries can include information from your conversation. We do not store web-search queries or results in our application database. Jina AI/Elastic and its search providers may retain and process them under their applicable privacy policies; see Jina AI’s legal information and Elastic’s privacy information. We retain access-key records and usage counters to operate the service. Providers may also process request metadata, including IP addresses. Disabling search prevents future searches but does not delete records already held by providers.

Other connections require your action. Enabling model discovery/downloads allows requests to GitHub, Hugging Face and their delivery providers; these requests do not include chats. Opening external links contacts the linked site. On Mac, enabling the local API makes the model available to clients you connect; network exposure depends on your chosen listening address. Device backups are controlled by your operating-system settings.

Storage and deletion. Local chats can be deleted in the app. Submitted feedback is stored using Cloudflare and currently has no automatic expiry. Contact us with your feedback receipt ID to request access, correction or deletion, or to withdraw permission for future use. Copies already published or reused under CC BY 4.0 may remain available. Processor logs and backups have separate retention rules.

We do not use the app for advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.
